Background

The 2nd International Conference on Arts and Design Education (ICADE) is a conference hosted by Faculty of Arts and Design Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This conference will be held on September 18-19, 2019 in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. ICADE has covered a broad range of topics on music, dance, drama/theatre, visual arts, Visual Communication Design, arts education, Film and Television and multidisciplinary arts fields.

This conference aims to share and exchange knowledge and practices for academician, educators, researchers, practitioners, graduate and post graduate students, and art entrepreneurs from different cultural backgrounds and nationality to worldwide present and exchange their recent knowledge, and latest research in fields of performing arts, arts education and the practices, as well as multidisciplinary arts field. This event will also build initial global partners for future collaboration and promoting new ideas, innovation, and creativity. All selected papers will be published in the proceedings indexed by Scopus and/or Web of  Science, and Google scholar.

Aims and Scope

The main topic of this conference is “Strengthening Cultural Understanding through Arts and Design Education”.

ICADE 2019 covers up several sub-topics to be discussed such as:

Arts and Creativity
Visual Arts and Design: Paintings, Sculptures, Ceramics, Arts and Crafts of the Society, Printmaking Arts, Comics, Illustrations, Design making, Interior Design, Industrial Design. Performing Arts: Theater, Dance, Music Composition and Practice, Choreography.

Models of Teaching on Arts & Design Education
Models of teaching arts for (early childhood) K-12 & Higher Education, children dances, arts curriculum development, approaches to teaching and learning arts, inclusive arts education including teaching arts for students with disabilities.

Multicultural Arts Education and Multidisciplinary Arts Studies
Multicultural dance, music, and art education, cultural studies, art history, critical theory, and philosophical theory, representation and constructing gender in the arts, and multiple intelligence.

New Media and Technology for the Arts
This topic should explore new media and technology such as interactive media for teaching, animation, visual cultures, and media studies

Vocational and Communities based Arts Education
Teaching arts in vocational schools, community, pop culture (ideas, perspective, attitude, phenomena), arts communities, interactive art communities,urban culture, and new society

Creative industry based on arts and culture
Film, video and photography, music, fashion, crafts, culinary, performing arts, fine art, interactive games, advertisement, architecture, radio and television, information and technology, research and development.

Abstract and Paper Submission

Authors are requested to submit abstracts to the Organizing Committee. The abstract is maximum 200 words and should consist of the following: aim of study, method used, results, and implication. The papers should be written in English and must be between 4 to 6 pages.  All submissions will be reviewed by peers for technical merit and content. Selected papers will be published in proceedings. The manuscript of full paper can be uploaded and submitted only after their abstracts are reviewed and accepted to be presented at the conference.
