STADIUM GENERAL: INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH BY PROF. LIONEL ARNAUD AT FPSD UPI
Evano & Yana, Bandung (17/05), Faculty of Art and Design Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia had the opportunity to collaborate with a speaker from France to organize a Stadium General at the UPI Amphitheater Building on May 17, 2023.
This Stadium General aims to provide a perspective on research methods to analyze cultural movements in various parts of the world. The Stadium General was attended by several representatives from FPSD UPI, namely Dr. Phil, Yudi Sukmayadi, M.Pd. as the Dean of FPSD UPI, Dr. Trianti Nugraheni, M.Si. as Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs of FPSD UPI, as well as lecturers and students from UPI who reached 120 participants.

The Stadium General with the title “ANALYZING CULTURAL MOVEMENT IN THE WORLD: METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH” was presented by Prof. Lionel Arnaud from France. He is a Professor of Sociology teaching at Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse 3) and Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Socio-Political Sciences (Sc Po Toulouse). His research focuses on cultural movements and the cultural development of cities around the world (Bandung, Cape Town, Fort-de-France, London, Salvador de Bahia, Toulouse, etc.). She is particularly interested in the processes of politicization and depoliticization of cultural practices of racial and ethnic minority populations. During Prof. Lionel’s presentation, he was accompanied by Zakiah Pawitan, S.Ds., M.Ds. who acted as a language translator for Prof. Lionel.

The 3-hour presentation session covered the role of research methods to analyze cultural movements in various parts of the world and in Indonesia and emphasized students as academics to try various variations of research data collection and processing methods to examine the field data obtained. The presentation session ended with a QnA session where students of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia actively asked questions to Prof. Lionel.

After the QnA session was over, the Stadium General was officially closed with a photo session with Prof. Lionel with the ranks of the Faculty of Art and Design Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and the ranks of lecturers and students of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
