“After the Rain”: Interpreting Bandung’s Face When the Sky Clears

Bandung 29, November 2025-The city of Bandung always has a story to tell behind its gentle rain. But have you ever truly seen the face of this city once the sky clears? This reflective question becomes the core theme of the art exhibition “After the Rain”, organized by the Student Association of Art Education (HIMASRA), Faculty of Art and Design Education (FPSD), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI).
The exhibition invites the public to explore the other side of Bandung through visual artworks that capture traces, memories, and hopes left in the calm that follows the rain. More than just an exhibition, “After the Rain” serves as a visual dialogue space, where young artists interpret the relationship between humans, the city, and weather as a metaphor for life’s rhythm between darkness and light.
The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM (WIB) at Sanggar Olah Seni (SOS), Jl. Siliwangi No.7, Dago, Bandung, within the creative hub of Babakan Siliwangi a space known for its vibrant artistic community. The exhibition will be open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, December 3-7, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with free admission for all visitors.
In addition to the exhibition, a special agenda the “Collage Portrait Art Workshop” will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 12:30 PM, with a participation fee of IDR 20,000. The workshop offers an engaging opportunity for the public to interact directly with the artists while exploring collage portrait techniques as a form of personal and experimental expression.
Through “After the Rain”, HIMASRA FPSD UPI aims to create a dialogue between students and the public, celebrating the moment of calm after the storm a time when stillness gives birth to reflection, and the subtle meanings of life are translated into poetic visual narratives.
“After the Rain” is not merely about art; it is about awareness about seeing the city and ourselves anew after the rain has passed. Come, meet the young artists, and be part of a visual conversation about Bandung a city that always tells its stories, even after the rain fades away.
