DKV UPI Attends Opening of Metaverse Exhibition 2026 at UiTM Malaysia
On February 12, 2026, representatives from the Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia attended the opening of the Metaverse Exhibition – International Art & Design Exhibition 2026 at the Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Puncak Alam Campus, Selangor, Malaysia.
The exhibition is a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Art & Design (FSSR) UiTM and DKV UPI, running from February 12 to March 12, 2026. The program reflects a strategic international partnership aimed at fostering artistic innovation and cross-border academic exchange in the field of art and design.

The DKV UPI delegation present at the event consisted of Irvan Satrya Prana, M.Ds.; Palupi Argani, M.Ds.; Dewi Iriani, M.Ds.; Muhammad Muhibban Syaban Banani; and Riva Rizaldi Darliana. The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Pn. Siti Nur Izaura Mohd Razis, Head of the Metaverse Exhibition Organizing Committee; Dewi Iriani, M.Ds., representing the DKV UPI delegation; and Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Zainuddin Ibrahim, Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs, Faculty of Art & Design, UiTM. The event was also attended by Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Rohana Zur, Deputy Dean of Research and Industry Networking, Faculty of Art & Design UiTM; Encik Mohd Fazli Othman, Undergraduate Coordinator for Fine Arts; as well as teachers and high school students, underscoring the exhibition’s educational outreach dimension.
Showcasing Physical and Digital Innovation
The Metaverse Exhibition 2026 features the participation of 84 lecturers and students from both institutions, presenting a total of 49 physical artworks and 48 digital works. The exhibition highlights the willingness of higher education institutions to experiment with emerging technologies not only in artistic production but also in conceptual development, critical thinking processes, and exhibition design that transcends the limitations of conventional gallery spaces. By integrating physical and virtual exhibition formats, the program demonstrates how digital platforms can expand artistic reach and audience engagement. For participating lecturers and students, the exhibition provides valuable opportunities to enhance competencies and strengthen their capacity to compete in the international art and design arena.

Art Talk: Reimagining Creativity in Virtual Worlds
Following the opening ceremony, the program continued with an Art Talk titled “Reimagining Possibilities: Creativity and Innovation in Virtual Worlds.”
The session featured Prof. Madya Dr. Saiful Akram Che Cob (UiTM), Palupi Argani, M.Ds. (UPI), and Irvan Satrya Prana, M.Ds. (UPI), and was moderated by Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Zainuddin Ibrahim.
