FPSD Career Guidance Program Prepares Prospective Graduates for the Professional World

Bandung, February 9, 2026 - The Faculty of Art and Design Education (FPSD) held a Career Guidance Program for prospective graduates as part of the First Graduation Wave of 2026. The event served as a strategic forum to bridge academic experience with the realities of the professional world that students will soon enter.
The program featured Redy Nurdiasnyah Sahputra as the main speaker. An alumnus of the Art Education Department, Redy currently serves as Head of the Animation Study Program at SMK Telkom Bandung and is actively involved as a practitioner in the creative industry, particularly in graphic design and animation.

The discussion was moderated by Galih Jatu Kurnia, S.Pd., M.Sn., who guided the session to ensure an engaging and relevant exchange aligned with the needs of prospective graduates. The event was marked by active participation, with students raising questions about career opportunities, challenges in the creative industry, and strategies for building sustainable careers after graduation.
In his presentation, Redy emphasized that graduates in art and design possess broad career prospects that extend beyond a single professional path. Drawing from his own journey from working in graphic design and animation to pursuing a career in education he highlighted the importance of courage in seizing opportunities and consistency in developing professional competencies.

“The professional world does not always follow a linear path from what we learn in university. What matters most is mental readiness, adaptability, and the willingness to continue learning,” Redy stated.
He further underscored the importance of building a strong portfolio, maintaining professional networks, and upholding ethical conduct in the workplace. According to him, in the creative industry, strong professional relationships and peer recommendations often carry greater value than an extensive résumé.

The Career Guidance Program aims to provide students with a realistic overview of the professional landscape, equipping FPSD graduates with practical insights before transitioning into the workforce. Through direct interaction with alumni, students are expected to gain inspiration as well as a clearer understanding of potential career pathways after graduation.
Through this initiative, FPSD reaffirms its commitment not only to producing academically competent graduates, but also to preparing them to compete and adapt in an ever-evolving professional environment.
