Bandung, 6-8 February 2026 - Erlangga Voicefest: Choir Competition is a national-level choral festival that brings together university choirs from various higher education institutions across Indonesia. The event is organized as a platform for artistic appreciation as well as a competitive arena that promotes the development of creativity, musical excellence, and collaborative skills among student choir members.

Erlangga Voicefest not only features musical competitions but also presents a series of activities designed systematically and in a structured manner. The program begins with participant registration, attended by representatives of choir groups from various regions. The subsequent stage involves a technical meeting aimed at establishing a shared understanding of the competition’s implementation, including performance regulations, evaluation systems, and artistic requirements that must be adhered to by each participant. The adjudication process is conducted by a panel of professional judges with expertise in choral performance, encompassing vocal technique, musical interpretation, harmonic balance, and ensemble cohesion. The event series concludes with a gala night showcasing outstanding performances by participants alongside the announcement of the competition winners.

The participation of students from the Music Education Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in this event constitutes part of efforts to strengthen students’ artistic competencies and performative experience. Prior to departing for the competition venue, several students gathered in the campus lobby to conduct final coordination with the internal organizing committee. These preparatory activities included verifying administrative requirements, ensuring travel logistics readiness, and consolidating technical aspects related to the repertoire to be performed. This coordination process demonstrates the significance of organizational management in supporting the success of a choral ensemble’s performance.
During the competition, the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia choir delivered a performance that demonstrated mastery of vocal techniques, dynamic balance, and mature musical interpretation. The performance reflected intensive rehearsal processes and strong synergy among members in constructing artistic unity. The adjudication panel evaluated participants based on parameters including musicality, sound quality, intonational accuracy, and artistic expression capable of conveying musical messages comprehensively to the audience.

The implementation of Erlangga Voicefest also has a strategic impact in expanding networks among student choral organizations throughout Indonesia. Interaction among participants occurred not only within the competitive setting but also through the exchange of artistic experiences and informal discussions regarding rehearsal methodologies, repertoire development, and organizational management of choir groups. These activities contribute to strengthening the ecosystem of arts education, particularly in the field of vocal ensemble performance.
The participation of students from the Music Education Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in this competition resulted in a commendable achievement. The choir team successfully secured third place after undergoing a rigorous and competitive evaluation process. This achievement serves as an indicator of the effectiveness of musical training conducted within the academic environment and demonstrates the students’ capacity to compete at the national level.

This accomplishment also reflects the role of music arts education in shaping artistic skills integrated with teamwork, discipline, and collective responsibility. Participation in national competitions such as Erlangga Voicefest provides applied learning experiences and broadens students’ perspectives regarding professional standards in choral performance.
With the successful implementation of this event and the positive achievements attained, Erlangga Voicefest is expected to continue serving as a platform for advancing the quality of Indonesian student choral art. Furthermore, the event reinforces the position of choral performance as a medium of artistic expression capable of fostering character development, creativity, and solidarity among younger generations within the national arts education landscape.
