UPI Open Visit 2026: Introducing the Academic Environment to Prospective Students

Bandung, 31 January 2026 - Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) organized an Open Visit program for senior high school students from various regions who are interested in pursuing higher education. The event was designed to introduce prospective students to UPI’s academic environment while providing comprehensive information on undergraduate admission pathways, including the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), the National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), and the Independent Selection route.

The Open Visit was centered at the UPI Gymnasium and officially inaugurated by the Rector of UPI, Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M.A. In his opening address, the Rector emphasized UPI’s commitment as a leading teacher education university that is open, inclusive, and oriented toward the development of scientific excellence, professionalism, and student character. The event was also attended by members of the university’s executive leadership, including Prof. Dr. Tri Indri Hardini, M.Pd. and Prof. Dr. phil. Yudi Sukmayadi, M.Pd., who personally welcomed the enthusiastic participants.

Following the opening session, students were guided to visit faculties in accordance with their individual academic interests. One of the faculties that attracted considerable attention was the Faculty of Arts and Design Education (FPSD), which received a large number of visitors. The students’ arrival at FPSD was warmly welcomed by the Dean, Dr. Dody Mohammad Kholid, S.Pd., M.Sn., who highlighted FPSD’s role as a hub for the development of creativity, artistic sensitivity, and professional competence in the fields of arts and design.

The atmosphere of the FPSD visit was dynamic and educational. Students of the faculty actively contributed to the event by presenting a range of academic and artistic activities. In the FPSD lobby, visitors were introduced to an exhibition of student works that reflected both learning processes and academic achievements in fine arts and design. In the pelog-salendro gamelan room, participants observed live demonstrations of traditional music practice as an integral component of music education. Meanwhile, angklung performances in the angklung room showcased collaborative musical practices that emphasized collective discipline and cultural values.

In addition, the music theory room featured vocal performances by students, demonstrating technical mastery and musical expression. In the dance laboratory, visitors gained insight into the learning processes of movement-based arts through dance performances emphasizing technique, aesthetics, and interpretation. The FPSD visit concluded with a presentation in the FPSD auditorium introducing the Film and Television program, which outlined its curriculum structure, facilities, and prospects for academic and professional development in the audiovisual media sector.

Through the Open Visit program, UPI offered prospective students a direct and immersive experience of campus life, academic culture, and the diversity of disciplines available at the university. Beyond functioning as an institutional outreach initiative, the program served as an educational platform that enables senior high school students to make more informed and rational decisions regarding their future academic pathways.
