HIMASRA UPI Hosts Interactive Art Documentation and Portfolio Development Seminar

Bandung, 27 November 2025 - The Student Association of Art Education (HIMASRA) under the Faculty of Art and Design Education (FPSD), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, held an interactive seminar on 19 November 2025, focusing on artwork documentation and professional portfolio development. The event brought together experienced artists and visual art practitioners to share insights and industry-relevant knowledge with art education students.

Comprehensive Learning on Portfolio Building

Throughout the session, speakers elaborated on key aspects of portfolio development, including artwork selection, visual arrangement, narrative writing, and effective presentation strategies. They highlighted the importance of curating works that best represent an artist’s identity, technical skills, and personal creative direction.

The seminar emphasized that a portfolio is more than a collection of artworks; it is a visual representation of an artist’s journey, values, and professional readiness. Speakers also showcased exemplary portfolios and provided practical demonstrations on documenting artwork with clarity and consistency.

A Dynamic and Interactive Learning Environment

Held in a single seminar room, the event combined material presentation, a question-and-answer session, and an open discussion forum, allowing participants to engage directly with the invited professionals. Students were encouraged to ask questions, exchange ideas, and reflect on their own portfolio development process.

The interactive format created an environment where participants could connect their academic learning with real-world practices, gaining valuable insight into how professional artists organize, document, and present their work to various audiences including galleries, academic institutions, clients, and potential collaborators.

Strengthening Artistic Readiness and Professional Competence

Through this seminar, HIMASRA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting students’ artistic growth and professional preparedness. By bridging theoretical knowledge with practical expertise, the program equips future art educators and practitioners with essential skills for navigating the competitive landscape of the creative industry.

The seminar also underscored FPSD UPI’s dedication to fostering high-quality academic experiences that contribute to the development of competent, reflective, and industry-aware graduates.
